Here is an interesting bit of
news emanating from the grapevine which proves that even the most stylish
person on this planet needs guidance on delicate matters like fashion.
The Duchess of Cambridge, crowned
the ‘style icon’ as she rarely commits any fashion faux pas, is understood to
have sought style tips from fellow Brit and classy fashion designer Victoria
‘Posh’ Beckham.
Last year just before preparing
for her post-nuptials, Duchess Kate is understood to have told the world’s most
famous WAG that she wants to wear some of her designer evening wear during her
honeymoon.
The Cambridges and Beckhams have
become close friends over the past few years. While the husbands David and
William share a strong passion for sports, Catherine and Victoria have formed a
strong bond of friendship thanks to their common love for any thing
fashionable.
At one point it was said
that Kate Middleton was dressing more and more like
fashionista Victoria Beckham maybe due to their close relationship. But of
course, since then the future Queen of Britain has craved out her own unique
fashion style.
However, in the beginning days of
her marriage, as a newbie, a wise Catherine, 29 was apparently taking style
advice from new BFF Victoria. OK! Magazine reports that Kate asked Victoria, 36 if she
could take a selection of the singer’s dresses to wear on her honeymoon.
The pregnant mother of three is
then said to have immediately sent her a selection of her best spring/summer
collection. After which, the new bride Kate Middleton phoned ‘Posh’ Beckham to
say how much she loved her designer outfits, reports The Sun.
Kate Middleton is said to have
even asked the former Spice Girl for general advice on evening wear during the
romantic break after her April 29, 2011 nuptials. A friend of Posh’s family
said: “Victoria
is thrilled Kate loved her dresses and was only too happy to give her fashion
tips. The ladies get on very well and Vic can’t believe she is helping to dress
the future Queen.”
Later Posh even spoke about how
much she admired Kate. She is quoted as saying: “She is a beautiful young girl,
she has a wonderful figure and I think she wears clothes beautifully. I would
be honoured if she were to wear my designs.”
Both David and Victoria admire
Wills and Kate’s practical attitude to life. The football star recently even
gushed about Prince William’s magnetic quality of captivating the crowds.
“William has an aura. He’s got
the charisma of a king. He walks into a room and everyone knows he’s there
because he oozes that charm,” stated an awe-stuck David. Like Wills and Kate,
the Beckhams too have attended several of the Olympic events at London.
It’s their way of giving their
support to their nation’s athletes as also soaking in the fabulous patriotic
atmosphere at the world games. Now they are looking ahead to the Olympics’
grand finale with its closing ceremony on Sunday.
Apparently, Victoria Beckham
will be the star attraction, hopefully, giving a stellar performance with
the Spice Girls gang.
